Frequently Asked Questions

How long should I leave my hair to grow before waxing?
For the very best results, we recommend four to five weeks growth in intimate areas, and five to six weeks growth on legs and arms. If your hair is the same length as a grain of rice it is perfect.

How long will the waxing last?
If you have let the hair grow for four weeks, you will get a couple of weeks hair free before you will see any regrowth, which will be minimal compared to shaving.

After your very first wax you may see regrowth sooner, but after your second or third wax your hair will be in the correct regrowth cycle and you will see longer lasting results.

What should I do prior to treatment?
In the few days running up to your appointment exfoliation is extremely important. This helps to soften the hair and skin allowing for easy removal and preventing in growing hairs. Please to not be tempted to trim or shave as this often results in the hair being too short for removal.

We recommend Outback Organics Face & Body Scrub to use in the lead up to your treatment.

Will it hurt?
Waxing is not completely painless, discomfort is to be expected. However, with the added training, products and technique used at Sussex Skin Health you can be assured that it will be as painless as possible.

Can I have waxing done during my period?
Yes, absolutely. We don’t want you to fall out of your waxing cycle so waxing during your period is quite safe. All we ask is that for bikini area waxing you use a string or Mooncup.

After care cards with the do’s and don’ts will be provided to you after your waxing service.
